Editorial policy
Global Chronicle aims to make connected histories clear without flattening difference. We check claims against reliable published material, explain uncertainty and make changes when an error is brought to our attention.
Accuracy and context
Articles are reviewed for factual consistency, clear wording and enough context to avoid presenting one account as the whole story. We separate documented details from interpretation and do not fill gaps with invented scenes, quotations or people. Where evidence is incomplete or accounts differ, we say so plainly.
Independence and interests
Editorial choices are made for reader interest and relevance to the publication’s subject. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions. Any material created with a partner is identified clearly, and partner involvement does not grant a right to disguise promotional content as independent editorial work.
Corrections
Readers can report an error through the Contact page. We assess the detail, correct confirmed mistakes and update wording when an explanation is unclear or materially incomplete. Significant corrections are identified in the article so readers can see that it changed.
Illustrations and generated images
Illustrations may be used to clarify an idea or set a scene, and some illustrations are AI-generated. Images are not presented as historical evidence unless their source and status are made clear. Captions should distinguish a visual interpretation from a documentary image.
History travels in many directions
A route is never just a line on a map. We look at what moved along it, who met there and what changed in the telling.
