Write for us

Global Chronicle welcomes pitches that illuminate a specific connection between places, people, objects or ideas across time. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear question is a better start than a grand claim.

What fits

We consider explanatory, comparative, historical and object-led pieces within the publication’s focus on global connections. A strong pitch has a defined scope, explains why the subject matters to curious general readers and shows what the article will let them understand that a broad overview would not.

What to include

Use the Contact page to send a working title, a short summary, the central question, the proposed shape and an indication of the material you would consult. Mention relevant experience honestly, but do not imply access, credentials or first-hand reporting that you do not have. A complete article is not needed for an initial proposal.

How we assess pitches

We look for a distinct angle, careful handling of cultural context and claims that can be checked. We may ask for a narrower scope or clearer support. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication, and sending one does not guarantee a response or commission.

Our point of view

History travels in many directions

A route is never just a line on a map. We look at what moved along it, who met there and what changed in the telling.
